Well, all of a sudden it was showtime. We were receiving stickers right up to the end and we had literally thousands to sort through, organize, and present (not to imply that we all didn’t have a great time playing with all the pretty stickers.)
We decided to present work from as many of the artists as possible on repainted spray cans that we had lying around. We thought it would be cool to present each sticker as if it was a brand, which they kind of are, though they represent ideas, jokes, people, and the idea of a funner world instead of products to buy; like an anti-brand.
Our fireman friend Toño came through with some wicked fire-extinguishers, which we likewise pimped out. We put up a glass door and three more panels for some classic collage sticker work, which looks amazing. Even so we had a bunch of stickers left over. In the end we decided to put these out on a table where people could sort through and take them home (with a non-binding promise to send us pictures of the stuck stickers. The table was always busier than a wedding buffet table and most of the hundreds of stickers that were there got up and walked away to be distributed to points unknown around Madrid. Bueno, de repente era espectáculo. Estábamos recibiendo pegatinas hasta el final y tuvimos literalmente miles de ellas para clasificar, organizar y presentar (no es decir que no disfrutamos mucho con todas las pegatinas bonitas.)
Hemos decidido presentar el trabajo de la mayor cantidad de artistas como sea posible en uns latas de aerosol repintadas que había por ahí. Pensamos que estaría bien para presentar cada pegata como si se tratara de una marca, que de una manera son, a pesar de que representan ideas, chistes, personas, y la idea de un mundo más divertido en lugar de productos a comprar; como una anti-marca.
Nuestro amigo bombero Toño llegó con algunos extintores pepinos, los cuales también hemos tuneado. Pusimos una puerta de cristal y tres paneles más para un tipo de sticker collage clásico, que se ve increíble. Aún así hemos tenido un montón de pegatinas de sobra. Al final hemos decidido poner estos en una mesa donde la gente podía clasificar y llevarlos a casa (con una promesa no vinculante para enviarnos fotos de las pegatas pegadas. La mesa estaba siempre ocupado como una buffet de boda y la mayoría de los cientos de pegatinas que estaban allí se levantó y se fue a los puntos desconocidos por Madrid. Estén atentos para algunas tomas de acción en breve.
